Five ‘Non-Negotiables’ to Keep Your Home-Based Business Growing

For those of us who work at home, it’s SO important to adhere to what I like to call ‘non-negotiables.’  These are the steps that help you stay on track to continue to grow your home-based business when you’re experiencing a slow time or nothing seems to be going right.  And especially when nothing seems to be going right!  This is the time when you are most vulnerable to giving up, or saying, ‘It’s just not for me!’

Having steps in place that you adhere to on a consistent basis will change your vibration…and everything depends on this.  We are vibrational beings, and what we vibrate is what we attract.   When we’re putting out negative thoughts that is the energy we’re pulling towards us.  We have to literally put ourselves in motion and create different thought patterns in order to let go of negative thoughts, and there are a number of non-negotiables that you can include in your day to help you with this.

#1 VISUALIZATION.   Visualize where you want to be six months from now, a year from now, maybe five years from now, but have something either written down or photos in a book of visualizations that is your personal property.

Write your visualization in PRESENT TIME, as if you have already received your six month goal, or your 12 month goal, or your 5 year goal.  Look around you and describe how it FEELS. What are the senses involved now that you’e achieved this?  Who is there with you? What they saying?  What are they wearing?  Who else is there with you, and where exactly are you?  Express GRATITUDE for what has occurred and for the people and things that helped you get where you are.   If you have trouble expressing gratitude at first, take yourself back to a time when you were really grateful for something and FEEL what it was like.  Then return to your written visualization with a strong feeling of gratitude.  Read it to yourself every single day, so that you remind yourself of why you’re doing what you’re doing.

They say it’s good to read a visualization to yourself at night right before you go to sleep because during the night your subconscious mind, which is actually more powerful than the conscious mind, can work on that visualization for you while you sleep.   There is research that shows the power of the subconscious mind and its ability to bring into fruition what you visualize.

#2 PERSONAL GROWTH.  Learn something from those who have come before you – read blogs and posts from people who are successful in the business that you are involved in. Get on a webinar. Listen to a phone call but do something every day to be in the presence of people who are working towards the same thing you are, people who have achieved what you want to achieve.  It doesn’t have to be very long. It could be ten minutes. Just listen to something so that you start to grow in your concept and understanding of what it takes to be successful.

#3 LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY.  Okay, so I have been on this path. I have been learning how to do search engine optimization and Facebook analytics.  I have been learning target marketing. All of these things were new to me, but I stuck with them, and I know how frustrating it can be when a link doesn’t work, or a tutorial doesn’t match what you’re seeing on the screen!   We live in such a fast-paced world that in order to stay abreast of changes we have to challenge ourselves to evolve and grow – almost daily!  When you learn something new it’s of value, and now you can help teach this to others.

#4 USE WHAT YOU’VE LEARNED.  Many of us watch webinars and we learn new methods and techniques but we may never put them into practice. Just put it into practice – this is the key that turns the lock.  If it’s not perfect, it’s fine. Who cares?  The world is not a perfect place. Just put it out there and begin the process and you learn as you go along and you slowly get better.

#5 NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK.   Join groups and organizations. Be interested in people. Build relationships. Listen to what people are actually saying and not what you think they’re saying.  Don’t always have that response in mind that you’re going to say back to them. Just listen to what they’re telling you.

Private message people. Don’t spam them and don’t bother them, but be interested in what they’ve said on their page and comment back and forth that way. There are so many groups that you can join, and the world is a big place but we’re all connected these days.

What are your non-negotiables?  The 5 listed above are tried and true methods that successful people use.  I truly believe that if you adhere to your non-negotiables day after day they WILL help you to grow your business.  You will be connecting with a higher vibration of thought and activity.  You will be putting something into action every day, and you will see results.

We’ll talk more about this, but those are the five basic ‘non-negotiables’ that I think are really, really important for anyone building a home-based business.
